Hello Family,
There are times when all we have to lean on is grace: God's unmerited favor towards us. Times when we know that there is nothing that we have done to earn the blessings that we receive. Times when our own awareness of our unworthiness makes us keenly aware of and abundantly grateful for God's grace.
Israel Houghton sings a song that says, "Where would I be if not for His grace carrying me in every season." When we really think about it, we depend on God's grace daily...not on our goodness or our abilities...but upon God's grace. It is a grace that endures, sustains and redeems us from the penalty of sin and ensures the pathway to God's abundant blessings to us.
We so often take this "amazing grace" for granted. We fail to acknowledge our shortcomings and flaws. Most importantly, we take for granted the enormity of God's abundant blessings to us. If we take the time to honestly look at ourselves, we will realize we have all missed the mark in one way or another and are therefore fully dependent upon grace.
Do you recognize how much you need God's grace every day in every season? If so, then take the time to thank God for grace and live like you have been redeemed with a price - the precious blood of Jesus! Grateful,
-- Pastor J. M. Hurst
