Greetings Family,
As believers, we live in constant anticipation. First and foremost, we are anticipating the return of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are anticipating the goodness, the blessings and the opportunities that God has in store for us. We anticipate the ministries of service for which God is always preparing us through our life experiences and learnings. We live in a state of anticipation.
The question that I want to ask is...what do we do in the meantime? What do we do while we await the blessing, anticipate the opportunity, and look forward to the change that will lead us to that place that God desires for us next? I want to suggest that we must work diligently, that we must watch expectantly and that we must wait patiently. Anticipation does not suggest apathy, laziness or disengagement. We must work to help to build the world that we desire. We must be a part of the change that we seek.
Expectant watching includes, listening for the voice of God and studying the word of God for the direction that God would give to us. Finally, waiting patiently is an act of faith. It enables us to anticipate without becoming antsy. Patient waiting is the evidence of the depth of our relationship with God and our commitment to God's will. So, in the meantime...let's be about God's business...today...right now!
