(2/16/19) —Southeast SDA helped to raise awareness for Go Red for Women’s Heart Health month. The color red could be seen everywhere in the congregation.
Brenda Parks, retired Multicultural Initiatives Director for the Cleveland American Heart Association, was honored today for her tireless work educating the community and Southeast SDA Church concerning health. She received the Excellence in Service Award, presented by First Lady Dr. Carolyn Henry Hurst.
Parks stated that today was extra special because she was honoring her mother’s 84th birthday. Although retired, Parks stated that “you never retire because you’re always serving the Lord.”
Mother and daughter gospel powerhouses, Lucretia and Lacretia “TT” Bolden ministered in music and First Lady Hurst delivered a thought-provoking sermon, “Soul-Saving Pain.”
