When It's Time

It’s so important to know when the time is right in your life for a change, a shift, or a move. Change is such an unavoidable reality of life. It is amazing that some people avoid and resist change as if there were really something that could be done about the changes God brings into our lives. What is most important is to recognize when it’s time.

Far too many people become satisfied and complacent with routine and monotony in their lives. This is often because they have adjusted themselves to the unhealthy reality of what they believe is a changeless life. In fact, changes are happening to us and around us every day. I once told a friend I could see a change coming in their life and encouraged them to prepare for it. They did not take my advice or heed my admonition. Regretfully, the change about which I had spoken to them became their undoing.

Change is going on in our lives all the time -- irrespective whether it is in our physical bodies, our families, our churches or our communities. Change is inevitable, unstoppable and often unpredictable. But, when God shows or tells us it is time for a change, it is up to us to gear up to meet the change head on. It is better to be a change agent -- one who makes change happen, than to be the object of change -- one to whom change happens. I encourage you to become a part of the changes that are happening in your life, your family, your church, your community and in the world today. As you do, change will no longer be an unexpected stranger but a familiar friend.
