Pastor Stan Hood

s hood 3

On March 28, 2020, our Southeast Family welcomes Pastor Stan Hood as our senior Pastor, and his lovely wife, Alisa as our first lady.

Pastor Hood was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. There he married the former Alisa Kelly and they were blessed with four children.

Pastor Hood received his bachelor's of arts in Bible and Theology from Malone University.  He minored in Christian Theater.

Prior to Southeast, the Hoods served at Ethnan Temple in Wilkinsburg, PA for six years.  Other locations where they ministered include Canton, Ohio, Middletown, Ohio and South Boston, Va.

Pastor Hood brings many talents and interests to Southeast SDA including Youth Ministries, Youth empowerment services and is a groundbreaking Evangelist and Founder of Hood SDA, in Kumasi, Ghana.  He is also well-known as a playwright, having written over 100 plays and skits. Most notably, he is the author of "Driven... How to Overcome Personal Weakness"

Pastor Hood's Vision for Ministry includes 1) " We better move quickly because we ain't got long to stay here!   and 2) "To proclaim the gospel and bring the latter rain".

His goal is "To be the Devil's worst enemy, a young warrior for God, a servant for Christ, a preacher of the Gospel -- clinging to the Cross!"

Pastor Hood shares with us, his scriptural motivation, which is found in Philippians 4:13 -- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".

We welcome Pastor Hood, Lady Hood and the entire family to Southeast SDA Church. May God bless their ministry.

During their pastoral stay in Canton, Ohio, she and her husband joined the Stark Social Workers Network and the City Lights Community Outreach Organization.  There she choreographed a major drama production for the Gibbs inner city youth entitled “Cinderella in the City” which her play-writer husband wrote, produced and directed.  It was also featured on Cantons local television.

While working with the SSW Network she directed an after-school program for the youth within the Harrisburg community which afforded “cultural enrichment” opportunities.  She also mentored young adult single mothers, troubled and abused youths whom the system deemed “the most difficult cases.”

While in Danville Virginia she joined the Big Brothers and Sisters Organization and became a big sister to young girls in need of love, direction and affection.

Lady Lisa is the co-chairperson of Playhouse Ministries with an emphasis on Christian Drama.

One of her favorite Bible text is John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you.

First Lady Alisa Yvette Hood is a “Kept Woman” who enjoys preaching, teaching and sharing the “Good News of JESUS CHRIST” everywhere she goes.

Her love and enthusiasm for GOD and people continues to bring numerous conferences, preaching and teaching opportunities and engagements that cross social, racial and denominational barriers.

Over the years Elder Hood has come to be known as the “Preaching Prayer Warrior”.

She realizes there is only one way to successfully live her life and that is as a "Slave to CHRIST."
