The Southeast SDA Church observed Communion on Sabbath, February 6th, 2016. We understand and observe that Holy Communion is practiced consistently throughout the life of a Christian because we are to obey the commands of our Lord. The scripture states, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians, 11:24 (NIV). Although we observe Communion on a regular basis, there are times when some of our members are unable to participate in congregational communion services due to illness and/or physical immobility. The Pastor, Elders, Deacons, Deaconesses and other members want to share this holy time of worship with our members who are not in the presence of the sanctuary.

Southeast Members, Elder Richard Russell, Deaconess Veronica Felix and A.Y. Leader, Chrystelle Yuma shared this blessed and sacred time with Mrs. Jeannette Lemons, and other members who were unable to attend Sabbath Service. Those individuals who desire to partake in Holy Communion are given the opportunity to personally approach God and communicate with Him, as well as renewing their commitment to serve Him. God is using our members to help those who can’t attend corporate worship remember and celebrate what Christ has done for all of us in life, death and the resurrection.

According to Elder Russell, the confined members truly appreciated the love and concern shown to them during their visit, as well as the prayers of the saints. They felt very special because our leaders instilled a sense of unity while carrying the vision and mission of Southeast to them at their place of residency.
